Celebrate Valentine's Day, and not consumption

Because of personal choices and the state of the economy, our family of 6 has had to tighten our budget over the past 6 months. As a result, we--like so many other families--have become creative with gift giving, especially for Valentine's Day! This is usually not a problem for the children's gifts; small favored candies or a special outing--like a movie or a trip to a children's museum--make everyone happy, but gifts for the adults can be a bit more challenging.

It seems only appropriate that gifts to honor and celebrate love should be thought-full rather than merely pricey. Here are a few suggestions to get you thinking creatively.
